Overview

The TRAP-18 provides a means by which mental health, intelligence, law enforcement, and security professionals can organize accumulating operational data on a person of concern, and plan for their risk management to reduce the threat of targeted violence. The instrument is designed to code for eight proximal warning behaviors and 10 longer term distal characteristics.

Getting Started with the TRAP-18

  1. Complete the TRAP-18 On Demand Advanced Training (GFR314):
  1. Purchase your TRAP-18 Annual License (GFR793):
    • Contact your MHS Sales Representative or email customerservice@mhs.com and reference the Product listed above to obtain your annual license.
  1. Access your GEARS Account (online platform) and start using the TRAP-18:
    • Once your annual license purchase is complete, a GEARS account will be created on your behalf with your online TRAP-18 annual access equipped.
      • Please note, this process takes between 1-2 business days to complete.
    • Once your GEARS Account is created you will receive a welcome email from no-reply@gifrgears.com
      • Be sure to check your spam folder after the 1-2 business days have passed if you did not receive this email.
